Spotlight – 2022 Summer Internship Program

July 27, 2022

This summer we welcomed a group of ten interns to MMA East! Our internship program gives these high-achieving students the opportunity to learn and grow within our industry thanks to the real-world experience they gain here at MMA East. In turn, our colleagues enjoy mentoring these young professionals and collaborating on meaningful work that will help our company reach its goals.

This summer, our interns participated in several workshops, volunteer, and team building events including our Cradles to Crayons charity event and a trip to the Philly’s game! As the summer comes to an end, we invited five of our summer interns to share with us a little about their internship experiences so far at MMA.

Intern Q&A

MMA: Why did you choose MMA for your summer internship?

Parsons: I chose MMA because of their strong relationship with my school, Temple University. The Temple alums who recruit on campus from MMA did a great job teaching us about MMA. I also chose MMA because they seemed to be a great place to learn not only about the specific role I would be interning in, but about many roles in the industry.

MMA: What have you liked most about your internship experience so far?

Picozzi: I have liked getting to know and work with my managers, co-workers, and fellow interns the most.

Bonniger: I have most enjoyed the experiences I’ve had with my fellow interns, such as the volunteer event we did in July with Cradles to Crayons and the various intern trainings we do together on a weekly basis.

MMA: What project that you’ve worked on this summer are you most proud of or enjoyed the most?

Deal: I worked with my manager on adding fertility benefits for a company. That was my favorite because these benefits are going to help people create families.

MMA: How do you feel MMA has prepared you for the next step in your career?

DiCicco: MMA has put it within my hands to accomplish what I want to accomplish. MMA has emphasized the entrepreneur mindset and has made me realize that I need to chase after what I want within the workforce. Looking into the future of my career, I’d like to keep that mindset so I truly succeed.

Whether you‘ve studied risk and insurance or not, MMA has opportunities for you to launch a career in insurance without limits. Roles range from client service to actuarial, and sales to marketing.
