Biography
Theresa has worked in the employee benefits field for over 22 years and leads the Employee Health & Benefits Practice at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA). In her role, Theresa manages our core team of strategic account managers, client service teams, and financial underwriters. She additionally oversees our specialty practices, including the MMA Stop Loss Center of Excellence, RightPath Stop Loss Captive, ReinventRx, Well-being Your Way, and Compliance.

In 2017, Theresa was promoted to lead a newly formed Strategic Initiatives Division leading a cross functional team of experts to help design new market solutions and strategies to support employers of every size. She was promoted to Practice Leader in 2021 continuing to support thought leadership and strategy around key trends impacting employers including prescription drugs, gene therapies, absence management and compliance.
Share a meaningful piece of advice you’ve received.
Don’t compare yourself to others–it’s a trap; people get caught up in looking at others and comparing if they are doing better personally and professionally, making more money, getting promoted, having a big house, keeping up with the Jones, etc. Compete against yourself. Are you better than you were yesterday? Are you better than you were last year? If not, reflect on what you need to do to get better, and then do it.
What do you love most about our workplace culture?
The people. Our jobs are not easy, but every person is committed to not only their clients but to each other working as a team.
What meaningful advice would you give to our colleagues?
Work hard and get better every day. There is a great quote from Mark Cuban that resonates with me: “It’s not about money or connections–it’s the willingness to outwork and outlearn everyone.” If you put in the work, if you keep expanding your knowledge/areas of expertise, and rounding out your skillsets, more doors will open and your opportunities will be limitless.
